NAMING THEATERS

New corporate sponsorship on Broadway
8/18/2010

Foxwoods Resort Casino is betting on Broadway—and, more specifically, on "Spider-Man." The gambling destination announced a three-year contract for the naming rights to the former Hilton Theater. While the marketing opportunities in Times Square were a draw, Foxwoods was especially attracted by the connection to the theater's upcoming production. "'Spider-Man' is what kicked it over the top," said Chief Marketing Officer Robert Victoria, "Whenever 'Spider-Man' advertises, it will say 'at the Foxwoods Theater.'” The Foxwoods deal represents another step in the direction of theaters being used to boost corporate brands.
