Quick, Cheap, and Dirty: Developing an Inexpensive Marketing Plan

What are strategies that arts organizations can use to maximize their marketing dollars and existing staff time to develop a down and dirty marketing plan? Using real life examples, the panel will review steps that an organization can take to create an effective marketing retreat and plan for its organization. Their story illustrates that it is possible to work smarter and not harder when it comes to getting the word out, and that every member of an organization can be engaged in this effort.

Nancy Hytone Leb is an arts marketing consultant and is currently the Director of Training at the Center for Cultural Innovation. Other clients include Theatre Bay Area, Academy for New Musical Theatre and Syzygy Theatre. She also serves as a mentor to dance organizations through the Pentacle/Help Desk LA project.  Nancy authored the chapter, Marketing Your Art / Marketing Your Arts Business in CCI’s publication, Business of Art: An Artist’s Guide to Profitable Self-Employment. Nancy received a graduate certificate in Arts Administration from Golden Gate University and her BA from Iowa State University.
